Very interesting selections today Alex. The day has finally come for the “Mother of all races” which happens today in Race #8. All the stars and superstars will be on display in this history making event. It is without a doubt the greatest thoroughbred sprinting race in Canadian horse racing history! The depth of talent in this year’s Jacques Cartier Stakes (Grade III) is second to none.

I didn’t think you would agree with me on your choice to win the Jacques Cartier, but we do both agree on Pink Lloyd. Even though he has turned 7 years old now I hear that he is training extremely well and looking fantastic. People need to remember that last two races last year were lost by him due to a virus (in the first race) and bleeding in the lungs (in the second). Amazingly, he still finished respectably even though those were two devastating health problems.

Fast forward to today. Pink Lloyd (my favourite horse of all time) has had an extended period of time off to heal and relax. He is now completely healthy and it’s a good thing…He will HAVE TO bring his “A Game” today in order to win.

I found it extremely interesting that you have not “given any love” to Extravagant Kid (who is a Grade 1 horse) and Curlin’s Honor (the $1.5 million horse). I think other than Pink winning this race you will be surprised at how these favourites of mine will do. Do NOT be surprised if these two bad boys fight it out for second place.

One thing I can assure you is that one of the biggest thrills in Canadian horseracing history will be to see these “12 Ferraris” coming down the stretch at the same time….. OMG!!! We are blessed to have such an incredible race happening here at Woodbine, the likes of which will never be seen again. Truly, an “embarrassment of riches”.

It looks like I called the big race perfectly! Spectacular performance by Pink Lloyd (in world class time). What a difference when he is well rested, doesn’t have a devastating virus or blood in his lungs to deal with (like at the end of last season)…wouldn’t you say? I almost lost my voice and everyone around me was “high fiving” after that amazing and historical race. What a great day!
