A total of 52 Canadian-bred 3-year-olds remain eligible for the 2019 Queen’s Plate after the May 1 second nomination deadline.
Of those 52, a total of 48 horses were original Canadian Triple Crown nominees back in February, while four horses have been supplemented, including Bitethebulletbro, One Bad Boy, Rising Star and Suiteconnected.
The list of nominees is headlined by Avie’s Flatter, who will look to become the first horse since Norcliffe to win both the Coronation Futurity and the Queen’s Plate. Avie’s Flatter got his 3-year-old campaign off to a winning start, taking the Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes at Keeneland in April. Most recently, he ran a respectable sixth in the Grade 2 American Turf Stakes on the Kentucky Derby under card on May 4.

The Coronation Futurity winner is the early 3-1 favourite for the 160th Queen's Plate.
