Along with my selections and blog posts, I will also use this space to link to articles I’ve submitted to the various publications that I contribute to.

Sunday’s feature race at Woodbine is the $125,000 Classy ‘n Smart Stakes for older Ontario-sired fillies and mares, which will see Sweater Weather look to win the race for the second year in a row. Sweater Weather could accomplish an interesting feat if she were to win the Classy ‘n Smart. She comes into the race off of a win in the Algoma Stakes in her most recent start on August 30, and she also won the Algoma and Classy ‘n Smart in back-to-back starts this year. She reversed her form nicely in the Algoma, and trainer Robert Tiller will be hoping she can keep it rolling into this start. I wrote a race preview for the Classy ‘n Smart for the Daily Racing Form.

Here’s an excerpt from the story:

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Sweater Weather won the Algoma Stakes and Classy ’n Smart Stakes in back-to-back starts in 2016. She will look to repeat that feat at Woodbine on Sunday in the $125,000 Classy ’n Smart Stakes for Ontario-sired fillies and mares over 1 1/16 miles on Tapeta.

Sweater Weather was winless in three starts to begin her 2017 campaign, but on Aug. 30 she swept by the field to win the Algoma Stakes comfortably by 2 1/2 lengths over Sparkles’ Girl on Canadian Millions Sales Stakes Day.
